The establishment of the Fossil Collection of MACS (FCMA) is credited to the commitment of current and former scientists, staff, and students affiliated with the Biodiversity and Palaeobiology (Palaeobiology) Group, erstwhile Department of Geology and Palaeontology. Over nearly 10 years of continuous effort in data entry and editing, the FCMA has evolved into one of the largest paleontological knowledge database of India. Much of this progress has been facilitated by individuals working independently or with the financial support of the Agharkar Research Institute, Pune. Additionally, several former and current scientists have undertaken specific scientific projects funded by various national scientific agencies and contributed to FCMA database enrichment.
